a new standard in advertising..views and likes vs sales

I am only slightly jaded when it comes to an advertising message. Yes, I have been working in this business awhile and have developed a keen filter. But I am human and I like what I like. My newest obsession is the Geico ad with the camel walking around the office. I have played it over and over, shared it on Facebook, emailed it to friends and co-workers. All my co-workers and I yell out lines and phrases from this ALL DAY LONG. I can not say for certain that this commercial is bringing them new clients, but do they care? With over 5 million views on You Tube and people talking about and sharing this all over the country….it has definitely won a popularity contest. Woop-Woop-Hump Day!
