People will pay more if its worth it….

But what makes it worth it to YOU! That is very subjective.  Large companies invest lots of money to persuade you to “believe” that their product or service is worth it.  Classic brands like: Mercedes Benz, Perrier, Rolex, they all give people a feeling of quality, class, status and value.  People are accustomed to pay more for their items because they are “better”, they are worth it.

New brands in the marketplace: Lululemon, Pandora bracelets, and Apple, are examples of brands that people pay more for, wait in lines for and are HAPPY about it.  Could you explain to your grand mother why $100 yoga pants are worth it? or why waiting in a line for hours to buy a silver charm or new phone is worth your time? To those people who do,  it is. Those brands have made it “worth it” to those people. 

It would great if I could tell you what “it” is.  There are something’s that are hard to nail down exactly because they are viewed through the eyes and filter of each individual. Here is a personal example, I will tip VERY HEAVY, when I get great service. If my Diet Coke is always refreshed at a restaurant, or if I feel special at the hair salon or nail salon.  To feel important and special is worth more to me,  I tip big for that.

On the other hand, I have a hard time paying $24 for a scented candle. I love them but it just seems like a lot of money for something I will burn.  Its silly because I enjoy candles but will only buy they them on sale.  They are not “worth it” to me. 

I’m sure everyone can think of personal examples. Its those differences that make us open our wallets wider for different things.  Every major company wants to be “worth it” on their own level. Mc Donald’s to BMW- they all want to be worth “it” so you will buy their goods and services.

My question is, what makes it worth it to you? And what are you doing to make yourself or your company worth it.  I get up everyday, work hard, do my best and give my all to my clients so they “think i’m worth it” and continue to do business with me and not a competitor.

Be “worth it”!
